Job Description

The Sr Automation Engineer will develop processes for sophisticated automation equipment. In this role, you may design technologies for multiple platforms, including manufacturing and production. You set up and troubleshoot sophisticated automation tools and systems. The position also includes implementation of selected automation projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic system design in support of custom automated assembly, inspection, fixturing and robotic systems.

  • Programming with multiple robot languages; AAB, Epson, Kawasaki, Fanuc 

  • PLC Beckhoff programming standard IEC 61131 and HMI programming

  • Your responsibilities include procuring new equipment, defining specifications, unit testing, and implementation. 

  • Other duties include coding applications that enable physical devices or embed systems and debugging any problems that arise. 

  • You create procedures, provide training on related equipment and processes, interface with vendors and technical support on equipment issues and maintenance, and improve new production processes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to work productively and maintain project timelines with minimal supervision.

  • Experience in manufacturing equipment implementation projects is highly desirable.

  • 3+ years of PLC and HMI programming experience.

  • Electrical controls knowledge/aptitude

  • Proficient with PLCs software tools, HMIs, and sensors

  • Proficient with robots; AAB, Epson, Kawasaki, Fanuc

  • Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic operation

  • Software programming and automation experience is a must. You should also have experience in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop solutions. 

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, or computer-generated reports.

  • Engineering principles and technologies related to automation systems. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Successful automation engineers need to have meticulous attention to detail and should be comfortable with hands-on work.


Basic Requirements

Education and Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering

  • 5 years of Automation Engineering experience in a industrial environment.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.  Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
