Job Description
Software Solutions Architect
This role is responsible for partnering with key roles (e.g. application owners, designers, developers, business analysts, project managers, etc.) to create solutions that are aligned to the architecture principles, leverage common and cloud based solutions and services, and meet the financial targets (cost and benefits). Within the solution development lifecycle, this role will be accountable for solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the technology needs and business case.

Within the solution development lifecycle, this role will be accountable for solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the technology needs and business case.

Responsibilities

· Represents technology, strategy, and architecture in programs/initiatives. Partners with business stakeholders to confirm understanding of business strategy and drivers, provide solutions architecture recommendations, design, and guidance.

· Leads the evaluation and selection of technology products to meet strategic business initiatives. Initiates and executes proofs of concept and builds prototypes to assess new solution approaches and technologies where necessary.

· Assists to develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, integration, and implementation.

· Reviews and approves architecture analyses and designs to ensure fulfillment of requirements.

· Engages with partners and vendors from research to ensuring service delivery.

· Produces conceptual and logical architectures to meet strategic business and technology objectives through documentation of systems, architectures, process flows and value-chains. Manages tradeoffs between speed to market, quality, security, and financial impact.

· Works alongside development teams, leading meetings where necessary, and serves as a guide and decision maker for technical solutions.

· Analyzes current architecture to identify gaps and opportunities for enhanced capabilities and automation frameworks. Analyzes trends in technology to assess the impact of emerging technologies on the business, and to provide viable solutions that address technology and business needs.

Who We’re Looking For

· Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent), required.

· AWS CSA or similar certification, preferred.

· TOGAF or similar certification, preferred.

· 2+ years of related experience (including both application and infrastructure environments; SaaS based applications and services; services gateways or access-control environments; cloud-based solution and consumer facing environments; and with data architecture, data design, and ERD creations), required.

· 5+ years of related experience (including Snowflake experience), preferred.

· Industry knowledge and an understanding of service-oriented architecture databases and data modeling techniques, such as ERD creation with the ability to learn in complex and evolving environment.

· Knowledge and understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure/application design; data and cloud security protocols and requirements; system, platform, and account migrations; network infrastructure; and API implementation and authentication systems.

· Project management and resource management skills with the ability to create pragmatic, strategic technology alternatives to deliver short-term results while contributing to the long-term strategic direction.

· Presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the workgroup, as well employees in other units, customers, and suppliers; articulate the value proposition of getting solutions built using sound architecture principles; and comfortably and credibly present to senior leadership.

· Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to remain customer focused.

· API authentication, use and implementation including familiar with REST languages such as JSON as well use of tools for testing such as Postman.

· Ability to travel less than 5% of the time.

· Must be 18 years of age or older.

· Must successfully complete pre-employment screening process, as required.

· Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses, as needed.
