Athletic Academic Coordinator Duke University seeks applicants for the role of Athletic Academic Coordinator. Qualified applicants will commit to the holistic delivery of academic services and evaluate students for tendencies that may affect their educational experience. The academic coordinator with works directly with students to identify and implement appropriate interventions. The successful candidate will work with Football; utilize research-based learning strategies to improve student outcomes with reading, writing, and time management, and counsel students on matriculation/graduation requirements, the course selection, and relevant institutional policies. General competencies which lead to success in this position: the ability to anticipate issues, properly assess pertinent data, and develop/implement practical solutions to complex issues. A high degree of self-motivation, work ethic, organization, accuracy, and productivity, with an ability to manage time, set and meet deadlines, and independently follow through on duties as assigned; project genuineness and warmth as a service-oriented communicator; anticipate student needs and act to address them. This individual will be a member of the department's academic support and will report to the Executive Director of Academic Services and the Senior Associate Athletics Director/Assistant to the Provost. Requirements: Master's degree in counseling, social work, education, student development, athletic administration, or related field. Experience in academic advising, teaching, or counseling at the university level is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of students, coaches, and university partners.
