Job Description
Technical Writer - Cartersville, GA

The Textron GSE family of brands represents ground support equipment product lines and service solutions that have served the world’s airlines, freight carriers and airports for more than 150 combined years. The portfolio includes a full lineup of conventional and towbarless pushbacks, baggage tractors, tow tractors, belt loaders, one-man and two-man deicers, ground power units, air starts, and air conditioning units, offered under the TUG™, Douglas™, Premier™, and Safeaero™ brands. These products are built in manufacturing facilities and serviced in airport shops around the world.


• Prepare technical illustrations and parts lists utilizing engineering models, drawings, physical parts, previously prepared manuals, electronic parts lists and other information.

• Create and illustrate Owner's Manuals, Service Parts Manuals, Technician's Repair and Service Manuals and Field Kit Installation Instructions.

• Work with Engineering, Customer Care, and Service Parts to determine service items for Parts Manuals.

• Conduct peer-reviews and revise publications prior to distribution.

• Provide recommendation concerning improvements to technical communication techniques and keeps current on trade practices.

• Utilize computer generated artwork and text to create documents.

• Follow and maintain the departmental processes and procedures.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements


• Education: Bachelor’s degree required

• Years of Experience: 3 or more years of relevant experience required

• Software Knowledge: Previous experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator and Photoshop or similar software is preferred

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
