Tools to Have on Hand When You Work in Agriculture

Tools to Have on Hand When You Work in Agriculture
Posted By: Dixie Somers on October 26, 2021

Your work environment in the field is probably pretty unpredictable when you're grounded in agriculture. You can't always plan out your day and your tools (and your clothes and your lunch) because of the nature and unpredictability of crop production. Knowing what to bring with you each day will make life a lot easier for you when working out in the field. Knowing what to have on hand will also prevent you from being forced to return back to the shop halfway through your day's work because you didn't bring something with you. Below is a list of tools that are vital when you are working on a farm.

Wheelbarrow or Other Carts

A common instrument used for hauling dirt, tools, and other items around the farm. Having one on hand will save you time and energy from having to carry heavy objects across long distances. It will also prevent you from accidentally dropping an object, causing potentially expensive damage to the object or yourself.

Garden Hose or Hand Watering Can

Like the first tool, having access to water is necessary to produce crops at their highest potential yield. Water will keep your plant's soil healthy and moist, which will help the crop survive longer with less disease. Having clean water readily available will also prevent you from having to leave your work area to fetch water, wasting valuable time that could be used for other tasks.

Spades or Shovels

These are used for digging holes in order to transplant trees, shrubs, or plants. Having a spade or shovel on hand will help prevent you from having to leave your work area in search of one because nature called.

Rake

A rake easily breaks up dirt clumps and compacts soil which is useful when cultivating seedbeds. It is also used for collecting excess debris when cleaning up after a tree or shrub has been transplanted into the ground.

Work Gloves

If you have ever planted anything in your life, then you know how much dirt gets under your fingernails, and it's no fun trying to clean it out. Having a good pair of work gloves will prevent you from having to keep a bottle of hand sanitizer at your workstation so that you can do a quick swipe every time you pick up something new.

Water System Supplies

You never know when you might need to repair or install a new water system on your farm. It is vital to have a working one at all times. Tools, like stainless steel valves, will allow you to make any urgent repairs.

The list above is only a brief summary of the small number of items you should carry when working in agriculture. Each farm or field will have different equipment and tools that are used for specific tasks, but the tools listed above are extremely useful for multiple jobs around your work area.

Jennifer Sanchez
Hampton University class of 2003
Many people have written articles about how they were helped but I am very grateful to this great man who brought my ex-husband back to me. This testimony is a true story and my name is Jennifer Sanchez. When I came in contact with this man was also through a testimony written about him helping with a cure for Herpes Virus and I have also encountered many testimonies about how he has been helping others with their life. To get back with an ex is one of the most innermost feelings many people would love to experience especially as those memories with our ex always cloud our mind when someone else does some of those things our ex used to do. I was a single parent of two boys for almost 6 years and though my ex-husband was not staying with me and the kids I still wish someday he will return to me. This doctor I encountered is known as Dr. Odunga helped me with my wishes and I am happy to write on this website that my ex-husband is back with me. I am very happy to share the testimony with everyone so that they too can meet this great doctor and solve their problems. I don't know what others might feel about getting their ex back in their life but I always know there is a blessing in disguise with just a single re-connection with an ex. If you want to successfully get back with your ex or facing an infertility problem, contact this great man at odungaspelltemple@gmail.com Or WhatsApp/Call +2348167159012 and share an awesome testimony too just as I did
